Project Overview
Fusion Spaces was appointed to deliver a major technology refresh and expansion of a Race Support Room (RSR) for a world-leading motorsport organisation. The RSR plays a mission-critical role in real-time decision making, data analysis, and operational support during race weekends and testing.
This project builds on a long-standing relationship, with Fusion Spaces and Barco, originally supplying and installing the core visualisation and control infrastructure in 2018. The latest upgrade enhances performance, scalability, and long-term resilience, ensuring the facility continues to meet the demands of modern motorsport operations.
The Challenge
The client required:
- Increased visualisation performance, including additional 4K sources
- Enhanced control and flexibility within the RSR environment
- A solution capable of supporting future operational growth
- Guaranteed longevity, reliability, and support for a mission-critical space
- Minimal disruption to an already operational facility
Given the importance of the RSR, reliability and lifecycle support were as critical as its performance.
The Solution
Fusion Spaces worked closely with Barco, our long-term technology partner, to design and implement a comprehensive upgrade to the RSR, centred around Barco’s industry-leading visualisation and control technologies.
- Barco UniSee video wall technology, delivering seamless, high-resolution visualisation
- Barco CTRL control platform, enabling intuitive and flexible management of multiple data sources, including 4K endpoints
- Expanded and upgraded operator control interfaces
- Additional system enhancements and refinements to support evolving operational workflows
Fusion Spaces was responsible for the end-to-end delivery, including detailed design, project management, installation, commissioning, and user handover.

Longevity & Support
A key requirement from the client was long-term assurance.
To meet this, Fusion Spaces structured the project to include a 7-year service and support contract with Barco, providing:
- Long-term hardware and software support
- Proactive maintenance and technical assurance
- Confidence that the RSR infrastructure will remain fully supported throughout its operational lifecycle
This approach ensures the client’s investment is protected and the RSR remains operationally resilient for years to come.
